KL2 Clinical Scholars Master's Degree Program

The KL2 Clinical Scholars program is a three-year training experience designed to prepare physician-scientists and select doctoral-level Ph.D. investigators for independent careers in clinical and patient-oriented translational research. The program leads to a Master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Research. The program is funded in part by a KL2 grant from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is linked to the University’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). Applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Rockefeller University admissions decisions are based on merit

The program is designed to provide an optimal environment and mentoring structure for the Clinical Scholar to develop the experience and capabilities necessary to initiate an independent career as a patient-oriented and translational investigator.

The application process includes both the completion of the online application , including letters of reference and a letter from the proposed mentor recommending the Scholar’s appointment and indicating both the human subjects project the Scholar will work on and the Scholar’s and mentor’s joint plan for the Scholar’s career development.

Scholar applicants are encouraged to identify potential mentors by reviewing the Rockefeller Laboratory Heads. Scholars should contact the potential mentor directly to discuss the possibility of joining the mentor’s lab. For additional information about potential mentors, Scholar applicants can contact Dr. Coller at coller@rockefeller.edu.

Applications are considered complete when we have received the completed application form, the required application materials, two letters of reference, and the mentor’s letter. The Search Committee will not review incomplete applications.
